ss.7.c.2.4: the bill of rights

 By now, you probably hear of something called the “Bill of Rights”, but do you know the rights given to you? If not, let’s start with the first amendment, the first amendment gives you the right to freedom of religion (practice any religion you want), freedom of press (to publish any ideas or information online), freedom of speech (to express ideas and opinions in the public), freedom of assembly (the right to peacefully hold meetings and assemble), and freedom to petition the government (right to petition the government). These freedoms are called the 5 freedoms. So you know your freedoms, but do you know the others? Well, the 2nd amendment gives you the right to bear arms basically for militias to defend our country also can be used with citizens. The 3rd amendments prohibits the quartering of troops in you home (you don’t have to hold soldiers in your home).  The fourth amendment gives you the right for police to not to search you without a search warrant or unless you seem suspicious. The 5th amendment gives you the right to plead the fifth also known as to not snitch on yourself. The sixth amendment gives you the right to a speedy and fair trial. The 7th amendment gives you the right to a jury. The 8th amendment gives you the right to no unfair punishment from a judge. The 9th amendment gives you the rights not mentioned in the constitution. The 10th gives the states the rights not listed in the constitution.
